Director of Development, CMA National

Do you have a knack for developing relationships and fundraising?  The Director of Development will spearhead development and partnering efforts as the Children's Media Association continues to grow. Primary focus involves developing, proposing and securing financial support for CMA National from individuals, foundations and corporations. In addition, the Director supports and promotes communication and coordination of development activities across chapters.


  • Developing and maintaining ongoing relationships with national partners
  • Authoring and tracking proposals and reports for fundraising
  • Developing and securing venue partnerships space for CMA chapters
  • Pursuing partnerships with companies and aid our Director of Membership with corporate membership packages
  • Communicating regularly with the Marketing Director to send out partner communications
  • Consulting with CMA Treasurer to hit goals needed to advance annual budget
  • Researching and applying for grants to help support the organization’s annual budget

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have strong communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic)
  • Experience building and maintaining work partnerships with clients within a work environment
  • Must have a strong understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications
  • Takes personal ownership of key tasks and can make progress when required to work independently
  • Must be detail-oriented and a creative problem-solver capable of managing several tasks simultaneously in a fast paced changing environment and possesses excellent follow-up skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to proactively prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • The ability and passion to attend events as a representative of CMA
  • Attend Board of Officers meetings quarterly
