NYC Chapter Treasurer

Do you have strong financial skills and want to be a part of CMA’s growth? Become our New York Treasurer! The treasurer works closely with the NYC officers to help set and meet financial goals. Specifically, the Treasurer develops the chapter budget, keeps full and accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements, and maintains valuable documents for CMA New York. In addition, the New York Treasurer works closely with National CMA Treasury to maintain accounts and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and itemize expenses for the chapter.
  • Work closely with NYC President and CMA National Treasury to to develop chapter operating budget and fiscal goals.
  • Track yearly expenses and fees; keeping New York Board and events team informed of their budgets and spending
  • Manage expense reports with Events and other board departments, report to National for reimbursement.
  • Work with CMA National Treasury to manage and resolve organization accounts with vendors and contractors; ensuring timely payments and deposits
  • Update and report CMA New York’s finances to CMA National Treasury on an ongoing and regular basis.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Must have strong communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic)
  • Must have a working knowledge of or interest in Quickbooks, Microsoft Office and Google Apps
  • Takes personal ownership of key tasks and can make progress when required to work independently
  • Must be detail-oriented and a creative problem-solver capable of managing several tasks simultaneously in a fast paced changing environment and possesses excellent follow-up skills
  • The ability and passion to attend events as a representative of CMA.
